Investigate Susan G Koman Foundation for Violation of 501(c)(3) Provisions

The Susan G Komen Foundation has misused its authority under 501(c)(3) of the tax code to attack Planned Parenthood for purely political reasons.  The alleged policies by which the justified the attack have not been nor never been applied to other organizations that meet the same criteria.

This falls beyond the purview of a charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) and reclassifies the Susan G Komen Foundation now as a political action committee under section 527.

I respectfully request that the Internal Revenue Service investigate the Susan G Komen Foundation's use of their 501(c)(3) status and if found to be in violations of its requirements and limitations remove said 501(c)(3) status from the Susan G Koman Foundation.

We the undersigned, respectfully request that the Susan G Komen Foundation be investigated for violations of the provisions regarding the activities and restrictions with respect to 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.  We believe that its recent decision to stop funding for Planned Parenthood was not an implementation of policy but an attack directed specifically against Planned Parenthood for purely political reasons.  We base this belief on the knowledge that other organizations funded by the Susan G Komen Foundation fall similarly into the same conditions that were allegedly used to justify the decision against Planned Parenthood, yet no action has been taken by the Susan G Komen Foundation against those other organizations.

This defines the actions of the Susan G Komen Foundation not as one in keeping with their mission as a charitable organization but a political action more in keeping with a political action committee as defined in section 527 of the tax code.

We ask that the 503(c)(3) status of the Susan G Koman Foundation be reviewed and if they are found to be in violation of its provisions, that their 501(c)(3) status be revoked.
