END STREET CLEANING IN OAKLAND

While street cleaning seems like an effective way to keep the Oakland community clean, it does not target the true source of environmental hazards harming the neighborhood. It simply serves as an inconvenience and parking travesty in an already overpopulated community that does not have enough parking spots for the residents who reside there. Ending street cleaning in Oakland, or switching the street cleaning schedule from Level 3 to Level 4 will end chaos and disruption caused by the street cleaning schedule. Instead of street cleaning, there are many ways that Oakland residents can combat the need for revitalization of their community. Transitioning from Level 3 Street Cleaning where streets are cleaned once per month to Level 4 where streets are cleaned once per year will lessen the burden caused by inconvenient parking situations in Oakland, and will allow residents to use more parking spaces and lessen their risk of getting ticketed by the Pittsburgh parking Authority.
