Helmet-to-Helmet hits in the NFL

2011- Frostberg, Maryland High School football player dies from helmet to helmet hit.

2011- Homer, NY High School football player dies from helmet to helmet hit.

2011- Pittsburgh Steeler's James Harrison delivers helmet to helmet hit on  Cleveland Browns Quarterback Col McCoy. McCoy suffers severe concussion.

This was Harrison's 5th helmet to helmet hit in the last 3 years.  Harrison only suspended one game.

2010- Former   Carolina Panther running back Eric Shelton, paralyzed helmet to helmet hit, resulting in his paralysis, sues the NFL for damages.

We are The New York Jets Fan club of Los Angeles, CA.

We want the NFL to impose a penalty of an automatic ejection (on game day)  for any player that delivers a helmet to helmet hit. That same player will also be suspended for the following game, regardless if that game is a playoff game.

Furthermore, we want an automatic fine of $100,000.00 imposed on the offending player.  The proceeds of the fine will be donated to research  the treatment and prevention of head injuries in the NFL.

We want these rules implemented immediately.

Sincerely,
The Los Angeles-based NYJets Fan Club..
