Demand an end to unskilled workers putting life's at risk

Not just electricians but other trades are seeing their jobs been performed by unskilled tradesman. Most jobs in construction are now being undertaken by unskilled tradesman. As an electrician and a representive of many electricians we feel it's important to make people aware of the issues that are going on. There are currently colleges offering quick courses in order to obtain qualifications that many of us spent 4 year apprenticeships working towards, nothing can put a price on that experience. We feel that people undertaking the work should have a working knowledge of it, this cannot be learned in a 12 week course. All the companies we work for preach health and safety to us all but they are happy to let unskilled (unqualified) workers work in your homes, hospitals and even your children's schools. You may think this is just an unhappy electrician having a rant but believe me we as tradesman are concerned with what's going on. We have seen recently what cutting corners and penny pinching can lead to. We all feel it's our duty to say something for the protection and safety of all. Please sign if you agree
