Marijuana should be legalized for medicinal purposes as well as recreational purposes. It would cut down on the people that are jailed for the possession or distribution of marijuana. It would save American tax dollars that are being wasted to investigate and arrest the marijuana dealers. The US could regulate and tax marijuana just like they do ciggarettes and alcohol. (Just as long as they didn't add more additives, that would defeat the purpose.)
Marijuana has been shown by the Surgeon General to have caused ZERO that's 0 deaths, ever. If marijuana was found in their blood stream it was always something else that was the cause of death not the marijuana. You can't actually OD (overdose) on marijuana. If you smoke too much you go to sleep. It puts you in a relaxed state and heightens your awareness I think.
If regulated right and the right laws were put into affect I think that marijuana legalization would benefit the government and the people that smoke it. They could make it to where you couldn't drive "high" and if you were caught they could issue you a ticket just like with a DUI (Driving under the influence [of alcohol]). And I don't think that parents with young kids should be allowed to smoke around the kids. There will be people that do but the people that do are probably the ones that already do, and they could make it to where they could charge them with that too.
Everytime I have ever smoked marijuana it has always made me a happy person. I don't get mad on it ever. I think that legalization would help keep down on the violent acts of people that do smoke marijuana.
Sign this petition and help to legalize marijuana!! Write down experiences, good or bad that you have had with the so called "drug". Let our controlling government know that they need to listen to their citizens more!!!
