LICENSE OF A MIDWIFERY LED UNIT WITH THEATRE IN THE WESTERN CAPE

Women in the Private Sector in South Africa are faced with a very high C-Section Rate of 75%.  Women do not have a choice in terms of how they want to birth their babies as most Obstetricians lead women into believing that a C--section is the best for her and her baby.Women in the Public Sector are faced with abuse in labour, a dire shortage of personnel and rising maternal and neonatal deaths. Women in the Western Cape, unlike in Gauteng, have no access to a Private Midwivery Led Obstetric Unit with a Major Operating Theatre on site.  Women in the Western Cape want a choice!
