Make Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jnr's birthday a public holiday in Britain

Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jnr was one of the giants of the 20th century. He preached love and peace and tolerance and adhered rigidly to nonviolence, however much violence was aimed at him and his millions of supporters. In the end, it cost him his life in 1968. It is now 50 years since his famous "I have a dream" speech which should be compulsory listening for school pupils and indeed adults, particularly those who are intolerant. We believe his birthday should be a public holiday in the UK as well as in the USA. Indeed, it should be so worldwide. Perhaps the UN would like to suggest this. Please join this campaign.
