Eliminate New York State's Statute of Limitation Protecting Pedophiles from Prosecution

I was molested between the ages of 10 - 12 while a Boy Scout in Troop 455 in North Merrick,NY that culminated in a very violent violation by my Boy Scout Troop Leader in his basement when I was 12. He shoved a 38 Caliber "Policemen's Special" into my mouth to help me forget. It worked for 33 years. My memory returned at age 45 in September 1994. I began psychotherapy the next day. In New York the abused child must remember and criminally prosecute their attacker by age 18; any civil redress must be pursued by age 23. My Troop Leader apologized to me in July 1999 but I have no legal recourse because of New York's Statute of Limitation shielding him from prosecution. The most severely traumatized should not be further violated being denied justice because of a handicapped memory that resulted from the extreme nature of their trauma. The survivor-victim is still obligated to prove their case; most critically they must be heard! That is why I started this petition to the New York State Assembly, the New York State Senate, and to Governor Andrew Cuomo.
