The "strategic review" which was held without consulting Gym Staff or Members claims that the dining area for the hotel is too small to cope with the amount of rooms, so the decision to axe the pool & gym to make a more profitable food and beverage area has been made.
To ensure the continuation
of local Health facilties with a swimming pool to the north side of Crawley. The only other swimming pool is in the South side of Town at K2.
To continue to offer good value Health facilities such as 1 to 1 personal training & helping members with personal injuries achieve their goals. There are also several people who use the pool have disabilities and now their carers will have to find a pool which is suited to their needs & in reality there are none in the heart of the community. Elite Health & Fitness offer a gym, sauna, steam room and fitness classes which are on offer to the local community adjacent to one of the most deprived areas in Crawley and West Sussex.
Many members have been coming for as long as 27 years & is part of their life, including the older generation who want to keep fit but don't have the transport including a blind lady that cannot rely on public transport.
To allow the community of members of Elite Health and fitness to continue to raise funds for local charities. Particularly St Catherines Hospice. In the last few years local charities have been supported with around £11000 from fund raising by the Team.
If this gym & pool closes it would be such a terrible loss to a lot of people that depend on this gym for so many different reasons. It is NOT just a gym/pool it'S much more than that & there is nothing like it anywhere else!!!! PLEASE HELP US SAVE THIS HEALTH CLUB!!
