Kind Acts Challenge

This is a very sensitive issue because it involves race. In America race has always been the elephant in the room, avoidance is the norm while the undertone remain deafening. America has made tremendous strides when it comes to race relations, but we are reliving history. There are so many wrongs that has to be rooted in order for everyone to feel like equal human beings. If the constitution was truly meant for all the citizens of the United States then no one should feel excluded from the liberties it upholds. Independence is something African Americans have been trying to accomplish since the first ship brought our ancestors to the shores of Virginia. To have a celebratory event that symbolizes that we are on our way to truly experiencing the liberties that ensues freedom almost seems obligatory. July 2nd 1964 seems the most appropriate, for if we were truly free we wouldn't need civil rights.
