Stop the abuse of cats in New Zealand

    New Zealand's attitude to cats is sickening.

    From competitions to kill strays to labelling them as pests to trap and kill. This has to stop.
    The threat to native wildlife is not due to cats, who, like other animals, are killing to eat.
    Human actions, such as land acquisition and habitat destruction, are the biggest threat.

    Cats ought to be caught, neutered, and either released or placed in an area where they can live their lives.
    No animals should be destroyed when humans are free to ruin more of our natural world for little reason.
    There are ways and means of co-existing with this barbarism, too often labelled as 'humane'
