Put bull type dogs maul, injure, and kill people. They need to be banned or caged like any other dangerous wild animal. Sure the chihuahua my be the number one biter, but there is a life and death difference between being bitten and being mauled to death.
The "pit" lovers will tell you it's the owner. "My dog has never hurt anyone". YET. Can you describe what most pit bull homes look like?
It's their nature. They are expert fighters and killers. Pointing shorthair dogs aren't taught to smell a bird, stop, raise its leg, and wait until the bird flushes. A lab isn't taught to retrieve. They come by it naturally. Sure a trainer can reinforce those behaviors, but they are innate to those breeds. Did you hear about the young lady who took her two "loving" pits out for a run? They killed her. Their owner.
For the safety of the public, the children, and their owners, pit bull types need to be banned.
