Mackinaw Bridge our Next State Symbol

After studying about the many wondrous features Michigan has to provide for tourism as well as the residence, students at Ridge Park Charter Academy in Grand Rapids have disputed on whether or not we should have a new state symbol. Through the process of critical debate and a democratic vote, the students found the Mackinaw Bridge as being a symbol that requires acclamation.
The Mackinaw Bridge is the gateway to two inherently unique peninsulas that make Michigan the “Pure” State in which we claim. Without this bond our state couldn’t warrant the fame of Water-Winter Wonderland and “Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice.” By making the Mackinaw Bridge our next state symbol both Peninsulas would be able to connect the divide by creating more tourism and boosting Michigan’s Economy.
