On 21st May the Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland announced plans for Girdwood which ignored the needs of those in most need of housing in North Belfast.
This is only the latest in a long line of decisions by the Housing Executive and the Department for Social Development which have denied equality to people on the waiting list in North Belfast.
The Good Friday Agreement made it law that all government decisions had to be based on meeting need and tackling inequality.
14 years later, housing is still not being built based upon need.
