Pass the Presidential Tax Transparency Act

President-Elect Trump never released his tax returns during the election, and now we are starting to see just how many conflicts of interest he has with his business dealings. The public deserved to know just where his loyalties were ahead of time and we didn't get that. That's why we need to demand that Congress pass the Presidential Tax Transparency Act immediately, which calls for all presidential candidates from major parties to release their tax returns.

The bill - S.2979 - has been introduced in the Senate but isn't going anywhere. We need to insist that this becomes a priority. Had folks known how many foreign conflicts of interest Trump had, they may not have voted for him. He is already giving preferential treatment to leaders from countries where he has business interests.

The bill stipulates that if a candidate doesn't provide the returns from the three most recent years, then the Department of the Treasury will do so. This would give voters a chance to see where a candidate's personal loyalties lie. Please join me in asking Congress to pass this bill immediately.
