Stand Up For Net Neutrality

What will the future of the Internet look like?

This year, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed killing net neutrality. Net neutrality is the foundation for the Internet that we depend on today — one that is openly accessible to all.

But if these proposals pass then we can say goodbye to an open and free Internet. Internet Service Providers like Comcast and Time Warner Cable will be able to block and slow down any and all content that doesn't pay them a fee. Rich and powerful corporations will be able to pay extra in order to create "fast lanes" for themselves, while those who can't afford it will receive lower quality service. In short, they would create a two-tiered Internet that promotes those who can pay for it at the expense of others.

The FCC is giving the public a chance to speak out. But almost all of the planned public hearings will be held in the Washington, DC area! This is not representative of the American public!

We all deserve a voice in the debate over Internet freedom and net neutrality. Call on the FCC to hold public hearings outside of DC. Sign the petition today if you want to fight for an open and free Internet.

Dear [Decision maker],

I want my voice to be heard in the debate on net neutrality. The fact that all public hearings on your decision to alter net neutrality will be held in the Washington, DC area. This is not representative of the American public and favors large corporations and their lobbying power.

I am standing up to protect America's net neutrality. I do not want to see a "two-tirered" Internet, where large companies can pay for higher quality Internet service while those who don't pay the Internet Service Providers are blocked and slowed down.

Please hold public hearings outside of Washington, DC so that all voices in the debate over Internet access can be heard!

Sincerely,
