World War II Historical Marker

A group of interested historians want to place a marker on the Gettysburg Battlefield to recognize a secret Army unit that was tasked to conduct psychological operations against the German army. These men, many of them Jews who had escaped Nazi Germany and were eager to fight however they could, were commended by General Eisenhower for saving many GI lives by convincing German soldiers to surrender. We want to place a suitable marker on the site, known in WW II as Camp Sharpe, at its origin in MacMillan Woods. This plaque would be privately funded and maintained. Help us convince the National Park Service to allow placement of such a plaque and recognize the service of these brave and talented soldiers.
