Why should people sign this?
Well, where should I start. Eating Disorders have the HIGHEST mortality rate of any other Mental Illness, which of course does NOT mean it is the most serious, but it is probably taken the least serious.
People die every day due to Eating Disorders, or they take there life from the overwhelming feeling of hopelessness.
Treatment costs range from $500-1000 A DAY, treatment stays are usually 3-6 months, OR LONGER!
You could buy an entire house by the end of your treatment stay!
Not to mention relapse is always a possibility, this IS a mental illness after all! which is why treatment IS NECESSARY!! and NEEDS to be a reasonable price!
It is basically life or death for majority of the people, because majority of the people cannot afford treatment.
Eating Disorders to most people are just a diet, or a life style choice. which is FALSE.
Eating Disorders choose us, we do not choose them. Every minute of our lives is a struggle, our illness sometimes even follows is into our dreams.
It is a never ending battle.
Treatment costs NEED to be a more reasonable price.
Why have treatment centers if only 5% of us can afford it?
It's not even only the price, THE WAITING LIST CAN TAKE UP TO ONE YEAR!!! Do you know how quickly someone can lose there battle in a year!!!
We need to LOWER costs and SPEED UP THE WAITING PROCESS!!
