Refuse Cooperation with Facebook Advertisers until FB Reforms Itself

With the recent disclosures of Cambridge Analytica's abuse of Facebook information to create effective political propaganda, there can no longer be any doubt about the potential of FB to undermine democracy. Beyond that, though, FB is constantly misused as a device to mislead, agitate and divide people, rather than informing, enriching and connecting them. FB's business model depends on our willingness to respond to advertising. Make it clear that until FB is cleaned up in a real and effective way, all advertising directed at you will be futile. If large numbers of us do this very simple thing -- express our values through stating them clearly and refusing to cooperate with forces which undermine them -- we can be creators and fixers instead of victims.
