Justice for K-9 Officer Who Died in a Hot Car

Chase was a was a Belgian malinois born in Hungary on August 13, 2018. He was as a multi-purpose K-9 trained for narcotics detection, criminal apprehension, tracking, building searches, and evidence recovery.

According to the Cobb County Police Department Facebook Page, officers were attending scheduled active shooter training at the school when K-9 Chase was found unresponsive in the patrol vehicle. Cobb County police officers and Cobb County Fire personnel began life-saving measures, but the efforts were not enough to save him, and he succumbed to his heat-related injuries.

The officer who left Chase in the vehicle needs to be disciplined. There was no reason to leave Chase in the car - could he not have been brought inside, out of the head and the sun?
