There Poor Kittens Were Abandoned in a Bag and One Had to Be Euthanized

Summer months are often known as "kitten season," as many litters are born between the months of May and September. And one of these kitten season litters endured a trauma that no animal deserves: being carelessly abandoned in a bag on the street.

Luckily, the cats were found and six of them survived, with local shelters stepping in, housing them, and nursing them back to health. But one poor kitten was not so lucky, and tragically had to be euthanized.

Sign now to tell the Lincolnshire County Council to create a public education campaign about kitten season and cat reproductive health to prevent anything like this from happening again!

Public officials must take this issue seriously and work to ensure that there are as few kittens coming into shelters as possible. A public education campaign could help prevent unwanted cat pregnancies, keeping innocent kittens from ending up in shelters or abandoned on a random street to die.

This campaign is especially necessary because these aren't the only cats that shelters have had to deal with this summer, when kitten numbers reach a yearly high.

The death of this sweet kitten, and the suffering of its six siblings, was totally avoidable. With proper neuter-spay practices, fewer litters would end up abandoned on the street like these were.

Lincolnshire County Council, it's time for a public education campaign! Sign the petition now if you agree!
