After a national uproar, Trump officials announced Trump would not move forward with his proposed $1.8 billion fund to compensate political allies and supporters who claim they'd been victims of "weaponization" under Biden.
And then just hours later, Trump said he liked the fund and might do it.
We've seen this movie before. Again and again, Trump announces one thing, changes his mind, reverses course, or simply does whatever he wants anyway.
To hell with trusting him, Congress needs to act, and explicitly ban this move in advance.
Tell Congress: "Don't trust Trump's word. Pass legislation permanently banning Trump's slush fund."
