Mother Calling to Release Daughter

Huang Jinling, a retired engineer and former prisoner of conscience, is calling for the release of her daughter, Chen Yinghua, who was imprisoned on March 12, 2014 for helping her niece to visit her incarcerated father.

Huang’s 75-year-old husband returned to China to visit Yinghua. “Chen’s father, a Calgarian and Canadian citizen, was turned away from seeing her,” according to sources quoting Calgary Centre MP Joan Crockatt, and “Yinghua Chen’s life is in imminent danger.”

Chen Yinghua was arrested by police in Shijiazhuang as she was accompanying her niece, Bian Xiaohui, who was attempting to visit her father imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong, a traditional Chinese spiritual practice.
