Ban the use of green nets in the manufacture of wild bird fatballs.

Hundreds of thousands of our garden birds are killed every year because they get caught up in the green plastic netting used to contain fatballs. when the nets are empty they are blown away by the wind to become a death trap for many other wild animals.

People think they are helping the birds to survive by feeding them this way but instead they are subjecting many, particularly young birds, to a painful, frightening and lingering death if they get caught up in the netting.

The easy solution is to remove and carefully dispose of the nets before placing the balls in feeders or crumbled up on bird trays or on the ground. It takes seconds to snip away the nets - and this will save many lives!

All forms of garden netting put out to protect growing fruits and vegetables are equally hazardous so be aware and be alert!

C'mom the wildlife!!
