Urgent! Stop the eviction of 100,000 Detroit residents

Detroit is facing an impending crisis. With the planned foreclosure of 37,000 occupied homes, close to 100,000 residents are at serious risk of eviction. This decision will be made on March 31st, unless there is a massive outcry from both Detroit residents and the nation. This historic crisis represents the largest mass tax foreclosure in US history, in one city, at one time.

Local Detroit organizations, activists, and residents, with the support of the Right to the City Alliance, are launching a nationwide petition, to seek support to stop these foreclosures and show how despite the reports, housing insecurity and blight are only growing in de-industrialized cities like Detroit. Development plans being realized in cities around the country are not serving local residents, they're displacing them.
