Let's Build a Skate Park for Everyone!

Having an accessible, visible, well-built skatepark is key to keeping local youth engaged in our community. A working group has formed, consisting of boarders, parents, YMCA, businesses and residents, in support of building a new skate park, providing a safe, accessible, multi-use, outdoor recreation area at Shakespeare Park.

I support the development of a multi use park in Stratford Ontario, for the purpose of skateboarding, rollerblading, scooters and all wheeled sports. I support staff recommendation, that Shakespeare street park would be the best location for a new multi – use roller park because of the following:
• Visibility by 5 streets
• Room to expand
• Connection to play ground
• Proximity to the YMCA and the centre of the city
• Recommended by the Parks and Recreation Report.
