Steve King -- Don't Push to Ban Same-Sex Marriage on Military Bases!

Rep. Steve King is pushing to ban same-sex weddings at military facilities and pay for military chaplains that perform same-sex marriages through his "DOMA Limitation" amendment to the 2013 defense funding bill.

Currently, military chaplains can decide whether they want to perform same-sex marriages or not.

On the House floor, he said that the Obama administration is trying to "undermine" traditional marriage "within our military ranks" and that DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) prohibits these ceremonies.

Please tell Rep. Steve King not to push to ban same-sex marriage on military bases!

I am writing to you today concerning your "DOMA Limitation" amendment to the 2013 defense funding bill. This would ban same-sex marriage at military facilities and prohibit military chaplains that perform same-sex marriages from being paid.

This is discrimination and it is wrong. All people deserve to be able to marry the one they love, regardless of gender, especially those that have given their lives fighting for this country.

Please do not push to ban same-sex marriage on military bases.

Thank you for your time.
