STOP!!! DON'T USE LUCY THE ELEPHANT OR OTHER ANIMALS AT ZOOLANDER FASHION SHOW

It has been widely noted that you The ARK Project and Virgin Media are choosing to hold the ZOOLander Fashion Show event at Edmonton Valley Zoo. Yes, a unique venue for sure, but please we implore you to NOT use the animals and especially NOT Lucy the elephant.  THE PHOTO SEEN HERE IS LUCY'S LIFE EVERY DAY... DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK SHE SHOULD BE USED FOR FURTHER HUMAN ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES?

Proceeds from the ZOOLander Fashion Show can still go towards the conservation and enrichment efforts of the Grevy’s Zebras without using both Zebras and "tractable" animals (those "apparently" easy to handle), which we understand includes LUCY. They are not catwalk models and your words on The ARK Project website "gives the "tractable" animals of the Valley Zoo a chance to strut their stuff down the runway" is degrading to say the least for all of these beautiful animals. You can still educate the audience on their favourite animals without ab-using such animals and scaring them amidst an applauding audience, and no doubt camera flashes, etc. Have compassion, dig deep into your pockets and donate to the preservation of these beautiful animals in a way you'll feel proud of, because be assured the world is watching this event and the trauma of all animals involved.
