Human Rights For Pennsylvania Prisoners Petition

TO:
PA Joint House & Senate Judiciary Committees,  the U.S. Dept. of Justice, to the State & Federal Attorney General's Office, the PA Governor, Edward G. Rendell, the Geneva Convention and the U.S. President George W. Bush.

Because Pennsylvania Prisons have a high rate of suicide attempts, and suicides, racial harassment, bogus incident attempts, poor health treatments, mental health issues, tampering of inmates mail, and other prison abuses and violations of civil and human rights, we the undersigned ask for a full investigation into the Department of Pennsylvania's Prison system.

These prisoners are our loved ones, our family and friends. Their punishment for their crimes is imprisonment, not punishment from prison staff. We demand that they be treated like human beings. We demand an investigation, and for our inquiries, phone calls, faxes and letters not be "brushed under the rug" like it has been in the past.

Pennsylvania is a state of the United States, and the prisoners are American prisoners, not foreigners, and we expect that they be treated as such. The guards are not military personal and are not dealing with terrorists, and we expect that they be accountable for their actions.
