Stop the Redevelopment of Lord Calvert Manufactured Home Park

Lord Calvert Manufactured Home Park, in Great Mills, MD, is home to approximately 250 low-income households, in an area already affected by gentrification, and an already declining availability of affordable housing. As part of a deal to build a clinic, Cherry Cove Property Management, in cooperation with Medstar Health, plan to remove the residents of Lord Calvert, and redevelop it.

We the undersigned - residents of Lord Calvert Manufactured Home Park, residents of the area now designated a Health Enterprise Zone, as well as St. Mary’s County community members - oppose the redevelopment of the mobile home park owned by Cherry Cove. We reject the premise that increased availability of medical care must also mean removing people from their homes and decreasing the already declining availability of affordable homes in the area, and we demand that our homes be protected.
