Pocket Equality Now!

For years fashion designers have refused to put pockets on women's clothes. Why? Because they think form matters more than function. In the real world women aren't Barbie dolls who sit around looking pretty all day. We are women with jobs, kids, and busy lives. We don't want to drag purses everywhere we go. We want pocket equality.
Even when women are fortunate enough to find pants that fit well, we end up with pockets that barely fit our thumbs. We want pockets that are functional in our jeans, jeggings, leggings, office slacks, our skirts, and dresses.
This is a feminist issue. Our clothing is more expensive and less functional than men's clothing. Until we demand clothing that works as well as men's clothing, we'll be forced to wear clothes that either don't function well, or try to squeeze our curvy bodies into better designed menswear.
It's well known that keeping one's valuables close to one's person keeps things safer. Since women need use at least a small handbag because they don't have decent pockets in their clothing they become targets for thieves. Pockets can increase our safety.
