DEMAND that LSU RETIRE "MIKE" the TIGER Mascot and end the legacy of cruelty

LSU has a tradition of using EXOTIC TIGERS as mascots. They are used for entertainment and paraded in front of fans at sports events held by LSU. They live their entire lives in a small area,  NEVER have any interaction with other tigers and are kept in captivity till they die. LSU officials claim they are helping to "conserve" the species.

LSU does NOTHING to address the ecological OR conservation needs of this species. The goal of conservation is to prevent extinction of a species in the wild. LSU has no captive breeding program or conservation plan to reintroduce tigers into the wild. Human lives are ALWAYS at risk because wild animals NEVER lose their wild instincts. LSU tigers have been victims of kidnapping and other stressful events. PLEASE help to end this cruel legacy of using exotic animals as mascots for entertainment!
