I don't know about other countries, but in the UK, my religion is treated like a criminal offence. I live in constant fear and paranoia, and I want it to stop. I want to be able to tell people what my religion is without fear of recrimination; as it is, I can never tell anyone again.
I told someone my family's religion, and there were terrible consequences, which are still ongoing. I accidentally let it slip again, and again there were terrible consequences, which fortunately have ended. I can't even tell my new friend, who I'm almost positive is the same (we communicate through Facebook; she lives in California), because I'm paranoid about someone finding out.
I once heard someone say there is no Islamic State; it's a god of my religion causing all the trouble. That's nonsense. I hear newsreaders say 'so-called Islamic State', like they believe the same thing. What if it's not a war on terror, but a war on my religion?
