Ban the Box in North Carolina

Currently in North Carolina there are 37,137 people incarcerated, of that 97% of those inmates at some point will be released back into communities throughout North Carolina. There are 96,536 ex offenders living in North Carolina currently that are on post release, probation, or parole supervision and many of them unable to find employment due to their criminal backgrounds. Ban the box seeks to remove barriers and make it possible for those people to gain employment and become law abiding, productive members of society (good neighbors).
