The Changing Of Our New Zealand Flag.

Our New Zealand Government is currently wanting to change our New Zealand flag to something different. Goodness me, our solders in the past world wars have fought under this flag and it is an emblem that has been around us for a hundred years or more and is very significant to our country having the southern cross stars on it of our southern hemisphere, as well as the commonwealth insignia. John Key our National prime minister, says he will have a referendum on a change after some new designs come up early next year in 2015. In the past, referendums held in New Zealand have been over ridden by our dictatorial government, saying they are not neccessarily binding. A referendum will cost millions of dollars and here we have so much more the money could go to like poverty in our schools. Their priorities are all out of kilter. John Key has also not ruled out us becoming a Republic sometime in the future. This is a bit like comunism where we are told what we have to have, not what we want. We don't need to become a republic either, when we see so much unrest in other republics. Keep us in the British Commonwealth. But it is the flag that concerns many of us and currently there is about a 60 per-cent against a change.
