Save Endangered Mountain Gorillas in Virunga National Park

Virunga National Park, a World Heritage site in the Democratic Republic of Congo is in danger of becoming the next oil drilling location for SOCO International and Dominion Petroleum ignoring international law. There is currently an oil drilling ban in the park.

Virunga National Park is Africa's oldest national park and home to about 200 endangered mountain gorillas. That's about a quarter of the entire population of mountain gorillas. The park is home to a variety of iconic and rare species, including hippos, chimpanzees, elephants and birds.

The park also provides a sustainable living for about 30,000 fisherman who support their families fishing off of protected Lake Edward.

We ask the Congolese government to protect the park from the U.K. oil companies and enforce the oil drilling ban.
