To advise all members of the Southampton Zoning Board of Appeals and Town Board that we object to the granting of a variance to Tiana Pines application, 324 West Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays.
This Petition is to advise all members of the Southampton Zoning Board of Appeals and Town Board that we object to the granting of a variance to Tiana Pines application, 324 West Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays. The applicant seeks a variance from a non conforming use as a motel to another non conforming use as apartments.
The owners have admitted on the record that they have abandoned their existing non-conforming use as a motel years ago. Now they seek a variance from an abandoned non-conforming use to a new non-conforming use. If passed, are we continuing to send the wrong message to all who come before you to do whatever they want?
Why would you as the ZBA, reward applicants for their continued violations of Town code?
In our opinion, the granting of the variance would have significant adverse impact on Hampton Bays, the Town and the quality of life of its residents.
We therefore strongly request the variance be denied.
