Don't Endanger Women's Lives With Abortion Bans!

In 2010, Nebraska passed a law prohibiting all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Since then, countless women have had to struggle through unexpectedly dangerous pregnancies, with zero support from their legislators. Arizona has just passed the same ban. Now, Georgia is the latest state to try to enact this restriction on women's rights.

A Nebraska resident named Danielle is fighting back by telling her story on the internet. In 2010, Danielle found that she needed an abortion. Doctors informed her that her baby had no chance of survival except on a respirator.

But Nebraska's law forced Danielle to keep carrying a fetus which had no hope of a normal life--even after it was clear that Danielle's own health could be in danger.

Forcing women like Danielle to undergo emotional and physical turmoil is not just lacking in compassion; it is downright sadistic.

This misogyny must not spread any further than it already has. Tell Georgia's governor not to sign the 20-week abortion ban!

We the undersigned demand you desist from attempts to impose a twenty-week abortion ban on your state's women. Such a law is uncompassionate at best and, at worst, endangers the health of Georgia's women residents. We urge you to listen to the story of Danielle, a young mother who was denied an abortion even though two doctors advised her that her fetus had no lungs. You have no right to put other women through the terrible anxiety and despair that Danielle experienced. Let pregnant women decide for themselves.
