All foods containing genetically modified organism (GMO) must be labeled on the packaging. We as the public deserve the right to know if our food has bin genetically modified or engineered. With the spread of bio engineering and systemic pesticides, many crops are genetically engineered to contain the pesticide inside them. You can not wash these pesticides off. Systemic pesticides are in the plant, not on it. This pesticide will make the plant itself poisonous to predators, one has to wonder what (or who) else it’s poisoning? We do not have enough research to show how these genetically modified or engineered foods affect Humans and our livestock. GMO is already linked to Colony Collapse Disorder in bees who develop neurological problems from systemic pesticides.
I am a realistic person like you. I know there is too much money in pesticides for chemical companies to just pull out of the game. But I also know I have the right to know what I am eating. Please join me and sign this petition so that all food manufactures know that we care and want to know what is in our food. We will not wait for some CEO to have an epiphany and decide to do the write thing. You and I will take the fist step and sign this petition so that all foods containing genetically modified organism (GMO) will be labeled on the packaging and labeled in the fresh food section at the supermarket.
