Mental Health Care often comes in second to physical health care, a practice which can make things very difficult for an individual with mental health issues.  Children with mental health issues are most affected by a lack of care during their developmental years.

Parents have reported having to wait up to a year for psychiatric assessment and treatment.  In addition, most treatment is through the private sector, which mean families are forced to pay out of pocket for this necessary treatment.

Investing in mental health care would not only help the individuals who are directly affected by mental health issues, but could also help the economy. Currently, mental health issues have a greater effect on the economy than all major cancers combined.

Tell the Federal and Provincial governments to invest in mental health care to provide support to many Canadians.
