OUR APARTMENT COMPLEX HAS TOO MANY THINGS WE DON'T LIKE..
NOT ENOUGH THINGS THAT WE DO LIKE...
AND MOST OF US ARE TRAPPED HERE WITH NO OTHER OPTIONS.
The apartment has had an increase in drug activity and crime. We want tenants who sell drugs or engage in illegal activities evicted.
The apartment building has roaches and mice. We want regular reliable and increased pest control.
Work order requests are often ignored when submitted and if things do get "fixed" it is shoddy work and a mess is left in its place after the patch job is done.
The paint is peeling. The walls in the bathroom run when wet. The bathrooms are full of mold. The wiring is faulty. Lights don't always work. The elevator is hit and miss.
To top it all off we are tired of being lied too. The posted hours for management are 10-4 but the actual hours are your best guess to I don't know. If you call or text you may never get a response. You may be told that they are getting an estimate but if you ask to see it it doesn't exist. The stories about where management is during office hours abound.
The solution to all of this is:
1. Fire the current staff- Apartment Manager and Maintenance
2. Hire new staff who has been well vetted preferably someone with management experience who has only this as their main job and a maintenance person who has a history of working as a professional repair person.
3. Improve security
4. Increase budget for repairs
5. Have an owner visit the complex every 4-6 months
