Assemble Snow Fences on Illinois Route 76

Friday February 24th, Belvidere lost two amazing girls. Due to blowing snow on Illinois Route 76 near Belvidere North High School, a middle school, and an elementary school where kids travel everyday to go to and from school(activities). Blowing snow causes black ice which caused these two 16 year olds car to go head on into an SUV. This all c...ould have been avoided by the use of snow fences. I have been in contact with Illinois Department of Transporatation in hopes of getting snow fences assembled on this highway. Illinois Department of Transportation states they can not assemble snow fences on this highway due to there being farmland to close to the highway. Last time I checked farmers do not farm during the winter. These snow fences can be put up after they harvest, and before they plant. Snow fences used to be used on this road, farmland has always been there. Also they say that they plow and salt this highway. Boone County(county in charge of maintaining it) can not keep up with plowing and salting our residental streets more less our county roads. It's not a question if it'll happen again, but when it'll happen again. Please help us make our roads safer.
"We the undersigned" agree that snow fences need to be put up on Illinois Route 76. We're not saying it's fullproof and people still aren't going to have accidents, but it will reduce accidents.
