Allow FL estheticians to continue providing advanced services

To: the Department of Business and Professional Regulation

I am writing you today on behalf of the majority of Florida Estheticians. We are upset and disappointed that our livelihoods are being regulated yet again. We have studied hard, passed exams, taken extra courses, paid thousands of dollars for extra certifications, additional insurance and equipment all while ensuring sanitation and safety precautions and protocols are met and exceeded. Also while trying to rebuild after COVID, adhering to all the PPE and new protocols, who is going to pay us back for all that time and money spent?! Many of us are certified and trained in microneedling, dermaplaning, microblading, plasma, etc... and for some of us these services are our main source of income and it has cost A LOT of money and time to provide these services safely! I hope you will reconsider your decision to regulate these services away from us. Thank you for your time.

I have finally received a straight answer from the dept. of cosmetology at the DBPR, this "scope of practice " update is not yet in effect, but is going to be voted on. When the vote will happen, I do not yet know, however I will still be collecting signatures to send to the DBPR in order to let them know where we stand and hopefully prevent this from going into effect.
