President Trump: Award Heather Heyer the Presidential Medal of Freedom

Heather Heyer lost her life in Charlottesville, Virginia while opposing hundreds of armored white supremacists marching in violation of their permit and carrying firearms. She told associates before she went that she feared death, but went anyway. According to Executive Order 11085, the Presidential Medal of Freedom may be awarded "to any person who has made an especially meritorious contribution to (1), the security or national interests of the United States." In knowingly risking, and ultimately sacrificing, her life opposing ascendant lawbreaking white nationalism, we the undersigned believe that Heather Heyer has earned the award's distinction.
