Don't censor political news in the press

Care2Causes is promoting a petition to stop The Huffington Post from screening a grisly video of self immolation by a Tibetan monk. This is an horrific sight to witness but it is essential that people all around the world have access to news that is free from censorship. Whether it be an extreme act of protest or the brutal cruelty of war, people need to know the reality of the world in which we live. If we sanitise news people will not have a full understanding of what is going on and why.

Freedom doesn't come free. Freedom of speech, personal freedom of conscience and democracy cannot be preserved without effort. Freedom is constantly under attack and we will lose ever greater degrees of freedom of speech unless we demand the rights of the media to report uncensored news. Even when that news is exceptionally horrific.
