Stop Poisoning Wildlife in California!

Despite a massive public outcry, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District in Santa Monica, California, is killing wildlife with rodenticides and fumigants—toxins that cause convulsions, vomiting, internal bleeding, and a variety of other reactions that result in immense suffering and a slow, agonizing death for animals. Making matters worse, these products pose grave risks to children as well as to companion animals and protected wildlife who consume the bait or poisoned carcasses. When gophers burrowing in the playfield at Webster Elementary School in Malibu were recently targeted, officials were asked to rethink their plans but to no apparent avail.
The district must stop poisoning in favor of humane, safe wildlife-control method.
