I join the Malaysian Shark Fin Soup Free Zone

Malaysia has risen to number two in worldwide shark fin imports and is a major destination for seafood tourism, including shark fin soup. By pledging to create a No Shark Fin Soup zone in Sabah, we can reduce the demand for shark fin and help protect sharks in Malaysia and worldwide.

Dear Prime Minister,

Sabah Malaysia prides itself as the leader in sustainability and ecotourism. Malaysians are proud to have beautiful diving with sharks, rays, sea turtles and coral reefs, and this industry supports the local economy. Yet ocean wildlife, especially sharks are threatened worldwide, and increasingly here in Malaysia.

Malaysia has risen to number two worldwide in shark fin imports. Tourists are visiting this country to dive and enjoy this beauty, while others come to enjoy inexpensive seafood, including shark fin soup. Without Sabah sharks and wildlife, there will be no sharks to dive with, and no shark fin soup to consume. We entreat you to help Save Sabah Sharks and support a No Shark Fin Soup Zone in Sabah and say yes for ocean sustainability.
