Stop Animal Testing

According to the LCA, “One animal dies in a laboratory in the USA every second, in Japan every two seconds and in the UK every twelve seconds.” The reason for animal testing is that certain species of animals have similar internal structures that when experimented on may produce similar responses to that of humans and as such these scientists can gauge the effectiveness or harmfulness of certain products. However it has been proven that various species of animals that have these similar qualities may in fact not produce the same response, therefore making animal testing unnecessary and void. Additionally, there are aproximately  50 non-animal tests that have been authorized for use and can offer more valid and relevant results than those of experiments carried out on animals. In conclusion,   “More than 100 million animals every year suffer and die in cruel chemical, drug, food and cosmetic tests, biology lessons, medical training exercises, and curiosity-driven medical experiments” lives can be spared.
