Don't Restock the Constitution Gardens' Pond with Fish

There was a recent national tragedy, and it stinks (literally). Hundreds of dead fish -- including bluegill, sunfish and bass --appeared in a pond in the National Mall's Constitution Gardens, near the west of the World War II Memorial. Officials blame the tragedy on three main factors:

1. The pond is poorly designed and constructed.
2. It easily overheats because it's only 2-3 feet deep.
3. A hot pond leads to toxic algae blooms that sucked up the pond's oxygen.

Sadly, a similar fish tragedy (2013) occurred in the same pond for similar reasons.

The tragedy could've and should've been avoided. Sign and share this petition urging the National Park Service not to restock the Constitution Gardens' pond with fish.
