Change The Status of UK Horses to Pets

The sickening and heart breaking investigations by the likes of Hillside Animal Sanctuary, into abbatoirs who kill horses in the most insensitive and cruel way are gut wrenching. This is a deep feeling, intelligent animal that suffers terribly in abbatoirs. The horse is the biggest reason for mans success, they have helped us travel, ploughed our fields to feed us and even gone to war with us. They have EARNED the right to recieve pet status and to be put to sleep humanely by a qualified vet in their own field/stable. Would we send our dogs to abbatoirs? If we did they would probably make it into our burgers too!
